Progress update
Yesterday we optimized heavy queries across multiple systems on one of our database servers, we hope you have noticed faster response time all over our systems. We are still working on the database servers but can see improvements that we keep monitoring

The status update is that we are still experiencing sporadically performance issues in the environment. But the good news is that we can see that the performance has improved after a migration that was made during the weekend. We hope that you can see and feel the difference.

If you are interested in more information please read the earlier update from James Dixon.

Dear Visit Group partner,

We hope that you have had a great summer, and that you are all keeping strong and healthy in these challenging times!

You might have noticed that our technical environment sporadically is on reduced capacity on https://status.visitgroup.com/ per email (if you subscribe to the email alerts). The reduced capacity can be observed in the form of a slow back office operation or that a report is slow to generate as examples. We are very grateful for all your support and patience if it happens, and the phase of sometimes-reduced capacity should be behind us very soon.

As you may remember, from earlier communication, we made a very large investment in a fully mirrored Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) in 2019. The benefits compared to the current environment are connected to higher performance and above all; less complexity in monitoring and maintaining. The purpose is simply to run our platforms on an even faster and more stable technical environment.

With this short message, we just want to underline that the reason for the sometimes-reduced capacity is that we are undergoing a large-scale improvement project. Reduced capacity at any time does not rhyme with our joint ambitions, visions or our business model, and we all take it very seriously. However, it is sometimes necessary to make technical leaps, and all migration projects inevitably consume some system capacity.

We are now working on freeing capacity in the current technical infrastructure through migration of the test environment and the development environment. When that is done the migration of the production environment should not reduce the capacity in the current technical and therefore go unnoticed. The migration of the test environment and the development environment is likely to take one week.

In other words, the phase of sometimes-reduced capacity in the current environment should be over soon and we are doing everything we can to schedule sensitive parts of the migration during night-time. We have a great team of Visit Group colleagues and expert consultants on the job and we are on-call both evenings and weekends. We are super-excited about the new technical environment and we are looking forward to doing great things together with you all.

The Visit Group team wishes you a great fall. We hope that you will have many happy guests and that you will stay healthy and strong!

All the best
James Dixon, CEO

We are still experiencing lags in the Citybreak Suite.

Together with our hosting partner, we have identified what we need to do to optimize the network setup. We are not expecting any downtime, but it is likely that some operations sporadically will take longer than they normally do.

We appreciate your patience with us during the improvement efforts.
